And so the digital age is working one step closer to crawling under my skin, entering my dreams, and finding its way to the expression of the soul, the mind, the ramblings of a professional student of life, love, and the pursuit of mystery. Welcome all!!! In each living moment we have a hope which lies within our emotions, our feet, our smiles and fears. The hope of Pandora's box is the essence of our actions towards decreasing our carbon imprint upon a stressed mother, of spending more and gathering more to our abodes in temporary insanity. Our hopes guide us to spirits, lead us to science, reach out for children, and gather armies. It may lead to what feels right only to find what is wrong. Perhaps Nietzsche was correct to state "Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torments of man." A failed hope may be the broken heart of love where all efforts were led to the clinging on of what prayerfully will be, forgetting to nurture that which is with us now. Hope is always in the future where uncertainty lies in enternal waiting, distracting us from the value of the present moment. As Thomas Merton once said, "Do not depend on the hope of results. You may have to face the fact that your work will be apparently worthless and even achieve no result at all, if not perhaps results opposite to what you expect. As you get used to this idea, you start more and more to concentrate not on the results, but on the value, the rightness, the truth of the work itself. You gradually struggle less and less for an idea and more and more for specific people. In the end, it is the reality of personal relationship that saves everything." And so the first howl leaves tonight an echo to hope. What is left is the work, the connection to the present, the relationship itself, the blog. Peace to the Noble Wolves.
